designs, it marks the national reintroduction of Rapson’s Greenbelt® Line of lounge furniture from Rapson-Inc. and new outdoor versions of the Greenbelt® Line by Loll Designs.

Finnish designer/fabricators Ore.e Ref. hope to draw a attention to this reality with a little challenge for designers: Don’t design a single chair in 2012. Designing chairs “isn’t mandatory,” say the video’s stars, who were lauded on Fast.Co Design recently, “it comes through your educational system.” Instead, they suggest, work on renovating the chairs we already have! “Consider this the ultimate challenge for you to rethink how sustainable design should be manifested.”

Keep an eye out for our furniture if you watch Blue Bloods (CBS), Sleuths Channel (NBC), Smash (NBC) Gossip Girl (WB), or Damages (the 101 Network on DirecTV). We also have furniture in the upcoming movies, New Years Eve, Person of Interest, Men in Black III, and several more...

You also may see us in the coming season of Design Star season 6 on HGTV.

Sometimes the productions buy from us, but other times they rent, so it is possible to come in and buy a chair used in a show or movie and sit in the chair in your living room, while you watch it on the TV!

Phone Problems, Verizon is terrible.

Two Jakes phone calls are being forwarded. We are really sorry for any confusion. Verizon came by Tuesday morning and cut our phone line, the earliest they can get someone over to fix it is Saturday morning. I do not recommend Verizon as a phone carrier and am very unhappy with their service.

Our neighbor Michael Anchin has provided us with some of his blown glass hanging lights, bowls, and vases to sell for very good prices. The hanging lights range from $150 to $450, the bowls are $200, and the bases range from $40 to $450. His glass is really great and usually priced a lot higher. Come on down....

Here at Two Jakes we almost always have furniture designed by Eero Saarinen. We think he made some good things and was an important mid century design figure.

Here is a link to the review of the exhibit, “Eero Saarinen: Shaping the Future” at Museum of the City of New York, 1220 Fifth Avenue, at 103rd Street. It runs through the 31st of January, 2010.

If you decide you like his ideas/designs, then come see us! I also recommend a trip to St Louis to see/go up in, his arch, The Gateway to the West. It is really amazing.
